An SSL certificate in the modern online era forms part as the backbone of internet security.  Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates are used to establish an encrypted and secure connection between the computer’s internet browser or email client that you are using, to the server that you are connected to for data or emails.

With an SSL certificate in place a certificate will protect any sensitive data that you have in your company data such as client information, payment details and your own information from being intercepted from any non-authorised party.

The simplest way to tell if you have got an encrypted session on your web browser will be to see the padlock next to the web address you are browsing. Without this you are vulnerable to all non-authorised parties.  The padlock symbolises that the connection is encrypted and secured when browsing that site.
